Range Rover GT: first look at the new electric grand tourer
The Range Rover GT is a new electric grand tourer and the brand’s fifth model. It will be the first Range Rover based on the new EMA platform.
Range Rover has revealed the first details of the all-new Range Rover GT. The new model combines grand tourer characteristics, an electric powertrain and the all-terrain capability associated with Range Rover.
The Range Rover GT will become the fifth member of the Range Rover model family, joining the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque.

What is the Range Rover GT?
GT, or Gran Turismo, traditionally describes a car that combines strong performance with the comfort required for long-distance driving. Range Rover is applying this concept to a vehicle that also offers an electric powertrain and SUV capability.
According to Range Rover CEO Martin Limpert, the development team focused on combining the key characteristics of a grand tourer with electric propulsion and the capability expected from a Range Rover.
First Range Rover based on the EMA platform
The Range Rover GT will be the first Range Rover built on the new EMA, or Electrified Modular Architecture, platform. The architecture has been developed for electrified vehicles.
A fully electric Range Rover GT will be introduced first. A hybrid powertrain will be added to the model range later.
Range Rover GT interior
Range Rover has also revealed the first details of the GT interior. The cabin follows a minimalist design approach, with technology integrated into the overall interior architecture.
A new-generation display system replaces the traditional dashboard layout. The driver gets a separate digital display, while vehicle functions are controlled through a central touchscreen.
Hidden air vents extend across the dashboard. The dashboard itself is covered in woven textile, with audio system speakers concealed beneath the material.
Range Rover says particular attention has been paid to reducing visual and acoustic distractions. More vehicle functions can also be controlled using voice commands.
Rear passengers are promised a spacious seating area with generous legroom.
Range Rover GT undergoing final testing
Range Rover GT prototypes are currently completing the final stages of testing in different locations around the world.
The development cars use a special camouflage design inspired by the landscape surrounding Range Rover’s design and engineering facilities in Gaydon.
Despite the camouflage, the GT’s coupé-like silhouette and proportions can already be seen.
When will the Range Rover GT be revealed?
Range Rover has not yet published the GT’s complete technical specifications. Battery capacity, power output, electric range, acceleration and pricing have not been announced.
The manufacturer says more information about the Range Rover GT will be released later in 2026. More detailed specifications and launch information are expected at that time.
