On May 1st, at the American Car Season Opening held at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, Estonia’s only examples of the extremely rare Ford GT 2005 and Ford GT 2017 supercars will be on display — for the first time ever for the Estonian public to see.

The Ford GT 2005 is the first production version of the model – in 2005, 2,027 units were built, of which only 101 reached Europe. Between 2007 and 2016, the Ford GT was not produced, and in 2017 only 138 new Ford GT models were made. Buyers were personally selected by Ford from around the world, and one of these cars made its way to Estonia. Both Ford GT supercars will be showcased in the FenixBet area at the event.

“This is a very rare opportunity to see both of the only Ford GT models in Estonia at the same time, and I believe they will be the true highlights of the event,” commented Karol Kikkas, organizer of the American Car Season Opening. “In addition, visitors will be able to see many other rarities and beauties of American automotive culture. The event grows bigger every year – so much so that it now only fits at the Song Festival Grounds.”

This year, nearly 1,000 vehicles are expected at the event. Among them will be a competition Oldsmobile equipped with a Big Block engine and turbochargers, a 1950 Mercury Monterey recently awarded at the Helsinki American Car Show, and a 1965 restomod Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Also standing out is a Plymouth Road Runner, where not a single nut or bolt has been left untouched — everything has been repainted or chrome-finished. On display will also be a 1939 Nash, a classic car rebuilt for comfortable long-distance driving, featuring cruise control, working air conditioning, and electric seats.

In cooperation with Estonia’s best-known Harley-Davidson custom builder Fredy Jones, around ten unique handcrafted custom motorcycles will also be presented to the public. Among them are bikes that have reached the TOP 10 at the Helsinki American Car Show and a motorcycle that won the Best Custom award at the Helsinki MP26 Motorcycle Show.
