Audi has unveiled the all-new generation of the Q7 SUV, continuing the success story of one of the brand’s most popular premium SUVs. For more than 20 years, the Q7 has served as Audi’s flagship large SUV, and the new generation introduces a fresh design, advanced technology, and even greater comfort for both families and business users.

More Confident Design and Modern Appearance

The new Audi Q7 features a more modern and confident design. Its high shoulder line, muscular body, and Audi’s signature Singleframe grille give the SUV a commanding road presence.

Lighting technology plays a key role in the new design. Optional Digital Matrix LED headlights with micro-LED technology can project high-resolution light patterns directly onto the road. At the rear, third-generation digital OLED technology allows various light signatures and gives the vehicle a distinctive identity.

According to Audi, this is one of the most advanced lighting systems currently available in a production vehicle. A new feature projects the turn signal onto the road surface at night, helping other road users better recognize the vehicle’s intended maneuver.

More Luxury and Flexibility Inside

Audi has focused heavily on space and comfort. The Q7 comes standard with five seats, while six-seat and seven-seat configurations are available as options.

The six-seat version features two individual luxury seats in the second row, creating a true business-class travel experience. The seven-seat version remains ideal for larger families and allows the installation of up to three child seats.

All seats are electrically adjustable, while front seat ventilation and massage functions are available as options.

Audi has also updated the interior materials, and one welcome change is the disappearance of much of the glossy Piano Black trim. The new materials appear more premium, modern, and resistant to fingerprints and scratches.

Customers can also choose from new materials and finishes, including natural wood trim, carbon fiber details, and even upholstery incorporating alpaca fibers.

New Panoramic Roof Creates an Airier Cabin

One of the highlights of the new interior is the panoramic roof with switchable transparency.

The roof consists of nine individually controlled sections and can change from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button. For the first time, Audi also offers an illuminated panoramic roof whose lighting color adapts to the ambient interior lighting.

The special glass reflects infrared radiation and blocks more than 99.5 percent of UV rays, eliminating the need for a traditional sunshade.

Up to 2,075 Liters of Cargo Space

Practicality remains one of the Q7’s strongest attributes.

The five-seat version offers up to 806 liters of luggage space, expanding to 2,075 liters with the rear seats folded down.

The seven-seat version provides up to 722 liters behind the second row and up to 1,980 liters with the rear seats folded.

The redesigned center console includes additional storage compartments and a wireless charging area for two smartphones. The new Qi2 charging system supports up to 25W charging and uses magnetic positioning to keep devices securely in place.

Powerful V6 Diesel Engines with New MHEV Plus Technology

The new Audi Q7 will be available in Europe with two versions of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine.

The more powerful version produces 220 kW (299 hp) and 630 Nm of torque, while the second version delivers 180 kW (245 hp) and 500 Nm.

Both engines use Audi’s new MHEV Plus mild-hybrid technology. The system includes a next-generation powertrain generator capable of providing up to 18 kW (24 hp) and 370 Nm of additional torque.

An electric-powered compressor further improves throttle response and acceleration at low engine speeds. It can reach up to 90,000 rpm in just 250 milliseconds, helping eliminate turbo lag and delivering response similar to that of an electric vehicle.

The new Q7 can also run on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel. According to Audi, HVO can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 70–95 percent compared to conventional diesel fuel.

Both engine variants come standard with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s permanent quattro all-wheel drive system.

Seven Exciting New Technologies

The new Audi Q7 introduces several technologies not previously available in the model.

For the first time, customers can order power-operated doors. The system uses sensors to monitor the surroundings and automatically stops door movement if an obstacle is detected. The doors can also be controlled remotely through the myAudi app.

Audi has also upgraded the entertainment experience. The optional Bang & Olufsen 4D audio system combines 22 speakers with seat-integrated vibration modules, allowing occupants not only to hear music but also to physically feel it. Total system output reaches 1,360 watts.

The new voice assistant can answer a wide range of questions and can even access ChatGPT when needed, providing a seamless user experience.

The Q7 is also available with an integrated factory dashcam capable of recording driving footage without requiring additional accessories.

More Driver Assistance Than Ever Before

The new Q7 receives Audi’s latest generation of driver assistance systems.

Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus helps maintain lane position, speed, and distance from the vehicle ahead, making long journeys significantly more comfortable.

The new Trained Parking function can learn up to five individual parking maneuvers of up to 200 meters each. Once taught, the Q7 can repeat these parking maneuvers autonomously under driver supervision.

The Reverse Assist system helps navigate narrow streets and parking garages by memorizing previously driven routes and automatically retracing them when needed.

A new Emergency Assist system can detect when the driver becomes unresponsive. In such situations, the vehicle can safely slow down, move toward the shoulder, stop, and automatically initiate an emergency call if necessary.

Additional safety features include a 360-degree camera system, automated parking assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, trailer maneuvering assist, and exit warning technology designed to help prevent collisions with cyclists and other road users.

Smarter Adaptive Air Suspension

The standard suspension uses steel springs, while adaptive air suspension and adaptive air suspension sport are available as options.

The new adaptive air suspension can use navigation data to anticipate road conditions. For example, it can automatically adjust suspension settings before railroad crossings or rough road surfaces to improve ride comfort.

The system can also lower the vehicle by up to 62 millimeters to make entering and exiting easier.

For the first time, the Q7 can be ordered from the factory with wheels up to 23 inches in diameter.

Pricing and Availability

The new Audi Q7 will continue to be built in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the previous two generations were also produced.

Orders open in Germany in June 2026, with first customer deliveries scheduled for September.

Pricing starts at €87,900 for the 180 kW version and €90,500 for the 220 kW model.

Estonian pricing and specifications are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Autoportaal Opinion

Based on first impressions, Audi has found an excellent balance between luxury, technology, and practicality. While many manufacturers have moved toward increasingly digital and glossy interiors, the new Q7 feels more mature and premium.

At least judging by the official images, the new Audi Q7 looks outstanding. Its design is modern yet timeless, and the reduction of Piano Black trim is a welcome improvement.

Technologies such as power-operated doors, a ChatGPT-enabled voice assistant, a 4D audio system, and self-learning parking functions show that Audi aims to do more than simply compete with the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.

With a powerful V6 diesel engine, permanent quattro all-wheel drive, and advanced MHEV Plus technology, the new Audi Q7 appears well positioned to remain one of the most desirable premium SUVs on the market for years to come. If the real-world driving experience matches the promise shown in the official specifications and images, the new Q7 could become one of the most important premium SUV launches of 2026.
