Production of the new Kia XCeed will begin on May 29 at Kia’s Žilina plant in Slovakia. Designed for a stylish and active lifestyle, the crossover combines modern design, Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, and the latest technological solutions. The XCeed will be produced on the same production line as the Kia Sportage, EV4, and EV2. The addition of the XCeed further strengthens Kia’s growing and diverse model lineup in Europe.

According to Soohang Chang, President and CEO of Kia Europe, the start of production of the new XCeed marks an exciting step in Kia’s European operations, building on the continued success of a well-known and popular model name in Europe. The modernized production lines at the Žilina plant in Slovakia also support the expanding range of electric vehicles. The XCeed strengthens Kia’s position in Europe’s highly competitive C-segment by offering a flexible range of powertrains, from gasoline engines and mild hybrids to fully electric versions.

Following a comprehensive update, the enhanced technologies and powertrain lineup make the XCeed a highly attractive vehicle in Europe’s largest automotive segment. Kia has created a versatile package for drivers who value style, performance, and everyday practicality.

Compared to the 2022 model update, the refreshed crossover combines elegant design with a more dynamic character. The vehicle features the latest connectivity solutions, including a dual 12.3-inch infotainment display setup. In addition, the car is equipped with the Digital Key 2.0 system (smartphone-based digital key), while driving comfort has also been improved.

The Kia Žilina plant has been a cornerstone of the company’s European operations since opening in 2004. The production facility spans nearly two square kilometers and includes five production areas: stamping, body, paint, engine, and assembly shops. Approximately 3,700 employees work at the plant, supported by more than 600 robots.

This December, the factory will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Europe. The plant has evolved into a modern manufacturing center capable of adapting to rapidly changing market demands and supporting Kia’s transition toward sustainable mobility.
