Kia Seltos: A globally popular urban SUV arrives on the European market
Kia presents the Kia Seltos urban SUV. This is the second generation of the medium-sized urban SUV that has been successful worldwide. The all-new Seltos is one of Kia’s key models, highlighting the Korean brand’s leading role in design as well as its commitment to a modern lifestyle, practicality, and ease of use.
The all-new Kia Seltos has been engineered to deliver a confidence-inspiring driving experience and smart everyday usability. Seltos has a reputation as a valuable and reliable car, and building on that, the new Seltos combines SUV characteristics, smart technology, and comfort, setting a new benchmark in the mid-size urban SUV segment.
Meeting mobility needs around the world
Kia unveiled the all-new Seltos in an online world premiere themed “The Protagonist.” The film shown during the presentation depicts three people striving to achieve something new, seeking freedom and a deeper connection with their loved ones. Seltos gives drivers the opportunity to pursue their passions and live as the protagonists of their own stories.

A standout urban SUV: practical and boldly styled
The all-new Kia Seltos combines bold design, smart space utilization, and seamless connectivity. Globally, Seltos is one of Kia’s core SUV models—functional, comfortable, and suited to any lifestyle. It is designed for those who value individuality and versatility, blending urban agility with family-car practicality. Everyday driving is both simple and enjoyable.
Seltos was created using Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, expressing capability and confidence. The vehicle is 4,430 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall, with a 2,690 mm wheelbase that enables a spacious cabin. At the front, a wide grille with Kia’s so-called “star map” lighting signature and welcome lights immediately draws attention. Flush-mounted door handles improve aerodynamics and give the vehicle a refined appearance.
From the side, distinctive diagonal lines and the so-called “floating” roofline create a dynamic silhouette that conveys a sense of motion even when standing still. Contrasting design elements and silver accents add a touch of elegance. Vertical taillights extend across the entire tailgate, emphasizing the vehicle’s width. The X-Line trim features dark styling elements that give the SUV a rugged, powerful presence, while the GT-Line highlights a sportier aesthetic.
At the world premiere, Kia showcased three standout colors: Iceberg Green, Gravity Gray, and the bold, matte-finish Magma Red. The color palette ranges from modern elegance to strong, expressive tones.
Modern and intelligently designed interior
The interior of the all-new Seltos meets the evolving needs of modern mobility, whether for daily commutes or family trips. A low, horizontal dashboard improves visibility and creates a sense of openness. Optimized space design ensures ample head- and legroom for passengers. A steering-column-mounted gear selector frees up space in the center console, resulting in a more open cabin. The clean, uncluttered design and high-quality materials create a look and feel that is both modern and comfortable.
Key elements enhancing comfort and driving enjoyment include a wide panoramic sunroof that creates an open, airy atmosphere, and customizable ambient lighting with 64 color options. The second-row reclining seats adjust within a 24-degree range (12 degrees forward and 12 degrees backward), allowing passengers to tailor their seating position for optimal comfort. Premium Harman Kardon and Bose audio systems deliver an immersive sound experience. Additional digital personalization options and entertainment offerings—including collaborations with Disney and the NBA—are available in the Kia Connect Store.
Driving performance and powertrains
Seltos is based on Kia’s new K3 platform and offers drivers a confident and versatile driving experience. A stiffer body, improved noise insulation, and a balanced chassis ensure smooth and stable handling. Optimized suspension and steering systems support stability and control.
The range of powertrains meets the needs of markets worldwide. The 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine produces 180 hp and 265 Nm and is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) or a 6-speed manual transmission (MT). For customers seeking greater performance, the 1.6-liter T-GDI High Output engine delivers up to 193 hp and 265 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission (AT). A 2.0-liter petrol engine produces 149 hp and 179 Nm.
Optional all-wheel drive with a Terrain Mode system (featuring dedicated drive modes for snow, mud, and sand) improves stability and control in challenging conditions. Selecting driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) allows the driver to tailor the dynamic behavior to different environments, from city streets to rough terrain.
A hybrid version will join the model family in 2026, bringing improved efficiency and enhanced everyday usability. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function allows external electrical devices to be powered from the vehicle. The hybrid model introduces Kia’s Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0—the latest generation of technology that automatically adjusts regenerative braking based on traffic flow and navigation data to optimize energy recovery.
Technology hand in hand with safety and convenience
The all-new Seltos puts safety first. Emphasis has been placed on structure, driver assistance systems, body rigidity, and passenger protection. The selection of driver aids further boosts confidence behind the wheel, supporting the driver in various driving conditions. Driver-assistance features help with highway driving, lane keeping, collision avoidance, parking, and even safe exiting from the vehicle.
A head-up display projects essential driving information onto the windshield. The panoramic display combines two 12.3-inch screens and a separate climate control panel, creating a modern and functional driver workspace. An AI Assistant based on generative artificial intelligence enables conversational interaction with the vehicle’s systems. Over-the-air software updates ensure functions remain up to date. Digital Key 2 offers secure access to the vehicle via smartphone and simplifies car-sharing with other drivers.
The luggage compartment holds 536 liters (best in its class), and Seltos features flexible storage solutions, including a foldable two-level cargo floor. The Kia AddGear accessory system allows mounting storage accessories for organized everyday carry.
Production of the all-new Kia Seltos will begin in December 2025 in India. Throughout 2026, Seltos will go on sale in Korea, North America, Europe, and China.
