In November, 6,630 passenger car ownership transfers were completed, which is 611 fewer than in October. November’s figures show that instead of the hoped-for gradual recovery of the market, the car market fell back into a downturn. Looking back at the current year, the month with the steepest decline was February, when the market dropped by 63 percent compared to the previous year. After February, the market showed slow signs of recovery month by month, but as can be seen, November brought an unexpected new decline, with the number of ownership transfers falling by as much as 68 percent compared to the previous year. Compared to 2023, the decline in November was 50 percent. Therefore, based on November’s results, it cannot be said that the used car market is recovering.
Most Popular Car Brands
Let’s now take a closer look at these figures. Compared to October, there were no changes in the top three positions by brand. Only the number of transactions declined for all brands in the top three.
Top three brands:
BMW
Volkswagen
Audi
BMW also held first place in November. In November, 980 BMW vehicles changed ownership, which is 10 fewer transactions compared to October.
Volkswagen retained second place this month as well, with 759 transactions, which is 108 fewer than in October. Despite this decline, Volkswagen managed to keep its second position.
Audi was in third place. In November, 556 Audi vehicles changed ownership, which is 39 fewer than in October.
From these figures, it can be seen that BMW experienced the smallest decline, losing only 10 transactions month over month.

In terms of models, we have seen a close competition month after month between the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, and the Volkswagen Passat. November was no exception — the same models were in the top three, but in a different order.

An interesting detail in the model rankings is that BMW managed to increase transactions for both models compared to October. BMW 3 Series transactions increased by 41, and BMW 5 Series transactions increased by 9.
Cars Up to 10 Years Old
In the segment of newer used cars (up to 10 years old), Škoda has held first place for several consecutive months. In November, 382 Škoda vehicles changed ownership. However, this still represents a decline of 52 transactions compared to October.
Second place went to Toyota with 327 transactions, which is 28 fewer than in October. Similar to Škoda, Toyota has maintained the same position for several months.
Third place was taken by Volkswagen with 259 transactions. In the previous month, Volkswagen ranked fourth with 262 transactions, but this month it managed to climb to an honorable third place. As the numbers show, Volkswagen experienced a decline of only 3 transactions, which is very small compared to its competitors.
